Graphic Design Forum :: RE: designing business cards
And any good designer that works for a printing company will find a space on a sheet somewhere at some time to put their card on it - and a business card, come on. Ya, that's a selling point, 4 color process. If you don't have foils, embossing, etc on a card, you are nothing special, unless that 4 color has some serious designs that no one has seen before. In fact, we just did a card for a designer - 4 spot colors, 2 different foils, die cutting and embossing - Read More at This Link..

Graphic Design Forum :: Which programs are hot for archiving photographs?
We have started looking for software designed to sort, archive all our pictures. I suppose there are different options with lots of different features. But I don't even know of one. I am a newcomer, see. Can people here recommend some progams they use and like? Or do you just use iPhoto? Thanks. - Read More at This Link..

Prepress Software :: RE: Trapping Problems
And... it's worth mentioning that the current version of Harlequin's trap pro is very very good. It's a fairly inexpensive option at around $2500. It is highly configurable, and makes nice pretty smooth traps. It will trap everything on the page. Harlequin Scriptworks (any OEM) version 7.2r1 is highly recommended. Versions older than 7.0 are NOT recommended * 7.2r1 is typically a free (except for installation labor) upgrade from any 7.x. Downsides: Not zoneable. If you're a psotscript God you can define a zone that is less than the full page, but multiple trapzones are not supported. It does not ... - Read More at This Link..

Graphic Design Forum :: konica minolta vs canon imagepress
I am planning to go for production level digital color press. I am seriously considering a Canon image press C7000 and Konica Minolta C6500. Can anyone throw light on which is a better choice in terms of reliability, color consistancy and also handle a wide range of substrates. _ If positive attitude is religion I would love to be a fanatic - Read More at This Link..

Prepress Software :: RE: SPOT-CMYK conversion models
Prepress Software :: RE: SPOT-CMYK conversion models
In my book, you are correct, because you can tell them what your CMYK numbers are for each color. We get in a lot of spot colors that need to be process, and many times they are all different. Many designers use many different versions of the same color, and many are different. What you need to do is become consistent. The only way to tell what your CMYK value is for each color is in the application. Yes, you do need them all to be the same. Easy example to show the others is that if you get a job in, and print it today, and then the same job you need to make minor changes to comes back a year from now. You ... - Read More at This Link..
