Hi, Joe. I'm working in a company in Indonesia where we only use Windows OS. So is it possible that the new version will come for Windows also? Many thanks. - Read More at This Link..

Prepress Software :: RE: pdf's from Corel Draw
Brookline print is absolutely right - your fonts are ending up being subsetted. You might also try printing to postscript and then normalizing to PDF through Distiller - this usually does a decent job of embedding the font info, since you can tell distiller to do that in the settings. - Read More at This Link..

yes, learn how to create paths in pshop and your worries will be over. I'd say after 200 you should be a freakin expert. Learn the keyboard commands that switch between your tools, pen, direct select and the "flying V" that alters the direction of the path. the old default was 0.2 device pixels. good luck!, Bob - Read More at This Link..

Desktop Publishing :: RE: Dynamic text & variables in Illustrator 10
Adobe Illustrator 10 does support variables, you work with them through the Variables palette (Window menu). Have you looked at information about variables in the user guide or Illustrator Help? Look for "data-driven graphics" and you should find an entire chapter dedicated to working with variable data in Illustrator. If you have the User Guide which Illustrator 10 shipped with, it's Chapter 13. - Read More at This Link..

Digital Printing Forum :: RE: Problem with Xerox IGen3 printing solid black
Yes you would think by getting a supposed upgrade of equipment we would have a better results. The print quality is better than our old Indigo but the IGen is a lot more sensitive to file types. The image is just a 4C tiff logo but it has a weird edge so its going to take me a while to convert it to vector which is my last resort and looks like I'm heading down that path. I even tried building the entire business card in photoshop and creating one tiff of the whole card and that doesn't work. I'm going to have the VP, who is going to Drupa talk to those guys to find out what is going on. Thanks for all the sugg... - Read More at This Link..

This is the beginning of the end...I read somewhere, some time ago that companies like Adobe and Microsoft were considering making their softs server based as a way to curtail piracy. RE: Adobe programs would only be available by way of subscription or credit card. ( you can't steal what isn't there ). That means that anyone who doesn't have access to a high speed internet connection, or has bad credit won't be able to use Adobe products. So, you say, I'll get by with CS3 forever. Not so. Prepress Software :: RE: Best way to get a good black on press

Prepress Software :: RE: Best way to get a good black on press
In the beginning of the digital world around the 1980s is when the Rich Black term was born. Prior to that, a Black with a cyan bump was all that was needed for a really rich black or solid black. I believe that when the graphic computers came into play in the 80's, is when the term rich black was born and given to the computer generated blacks that were in a four color job. The dumb computers assigned four colors to the blacks automatically to maintain the four colors of the job, it even made the black text in a four color job, CMYK which caused allot of headaches. Some designers saw the four color black and dec... - Read More at This Link..

Graphic Design Forum :: RE: designing business cards
WOW, and I thought I was bad. Sometimes I guess BM you just need to vent a little. Better on the "little people" who think that if you can create a website with a business card builder on it, you can be successful. I figure those here know that we, as prepress people, designers, owners, or just plain interested in what goes on in the printing world know that business cards are not a plug and play if you want to be successful. Successful is after you get in the door, not a generic business card left at a receptionists desk to be thrown away. Yes, my two cents are up - Read More at This Link..

Digital Printing Forum :: RE: Konica Minolta 6500 / Fiery or Creo RIP?
Hi. We have been running a Konica Minolta C6500 with the Creo IC-304 RIP for some time now and fairly happy with this combination of printer and RIP. In particular, the support that Creo has provided us for any RIP issues that we have experienced has been excellent. The IC-304 RIP is an excellent RIP. As for print counts, there isn't a counter in the RIP, however determining print start and stop times for a specific job is found in the job history log. Image position is largely determined by the engine (C6500) through adjustable settings for each... - Read More at This Link..

Digital Printing Forum :: RE: DI press vs. Digital

Digital Printing Forum :: RE: DI press vs. Digital
Hi Bill, At my prior job we ran a DI 34. Two of them actually, the 1st one was one of the 1st production units they made and had a host of teething problems. They were generally very good at fixing it, and I think they put alot of what they learned into improvements. The 2nd one was a newer unit and pretty much ran perfect right off the bat. I'd give their service and support high marks, I handled the electronic prepress end, so I didn't mess too much with the supplies side. Also we had a veteran press operator who was really good. He did tell me that when they initially prese... - Read More at This Link..
